In what was indeed another bizarre chapter of the "List Of Crazy Ways To Get Covid-19 In India", hundreds of people rushed to what is the newly constructed 'Corona Mata Mandir' in Uttar Pradesh.

The temple, which has been set up under a neem tree in Shuklapur village of the Pratapgarh district of the state, was established so that people could offer their prayers to protect themselves from the deadly virus.

"After the deadly coronavirus wreaked havoc and snatched thousands of lives, we decided to set up 'Corona Mata' temple under a neem tree with a belief that praying to the deity would offer relief to the people from the deadly virus," a villager said.

According to reports, villagers had gathered many donations in order to set up the temple which has a mask-wearing white idol placed inside it called "Corona Mata".

Now, while people have been asked to follow COVID guidelines of wearing masks and maintaining social distancing, it was reported that large groups of people have been rushing to the temple to offer their prayers.

Soon after the news broke out, people on Twitter obviously could not hide their frustrations.
