There exist certain cultural influences that promote an unhealthy masculinity among all boys and men. The archaic notion that men are supposed to be unidimensional, emotionless automatons has been well noted for generations.

From our fathers (and their fathers) to our classmates, colleagues and friends. We’ve all witnessed certain men obsessed with the idea that certain traits like ‘Toughness’, ‘Antifemininity’ and ‘Social Dominance’ coupled with amped up doses of aggression are the ideals all men must live by to truly be masculine.

As a cultural preset, toxic masculinity has long dictated men to behave a certain way lest their ‘man card’ be revoked. The incessant need to act tough and avoid expressions of vulnerability hollows out men from the inside in the long term.
