'Suicide Squad 2': 4 Things We Diehard Fans Are Eagerly Looking Forward To

Good news for all fans of the superhero franchise!

Warner Bros and DC dropped the new trailer for Suicide Squad 2 and all hell has been let loose.

The almost two-and-a-half-minute-long trailer talks about Intelligence Officer Amanda Waller's (Viola Davis) new plan for recruiting the DC universe's bizarre team-up of supervillain turned anti-heroes for yet another deadly mission.

Directed by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), the movie's trailer has apparently left fans divided on social media. So, let's talk about a few things in it:

1. The Movie Has A Weasel and Shark

James Gunn had a Racoon and Groot in Marvel's Guardian of the Galaxy series, and considering how well it worked out with the franchise, he has now brought the same formula to DC.

Suicide Squad has Kingshark (Sylvester Stallone), a humanoid creature and a character who is considered to be the arch-nemesis of Superboy, as well as Weasel, a former university professor who transformed into a humanoid-weasel-like creature.

Well, while Kingshark looks more menacing, the truth is that Mr. Weasel himself killed 27 children on his own.

2. The Absence Of Joker, Deadshot, And Batman Has Fans Angered

The first Suicide Squad film came around a time when the DC movie universe was still finding its way. It had massive star power with Jared Leto starring as the Joker, Ben Affleck being Batman, and Will Smith as Deadshot.

Now, while the film sees the return of Joel Kinnaman and Viola Davis as Col. Rick Flag andΒ  Amanda Waller, none of the big stars are going to reprise their roles in the sequel, a fact that has clearly angered fans.Β Β

For real how could you drop the ball on WILL FREAKING SMITH I really want to know the logic behind that

"It's a terrible idea because a Suicide Squad movie can't exist without Batman, Flash, Joker or Will Smith", every day - you supposed DC Fans expose your illiteracy on these DC properties.

Not even a sequel, It’s the shittiest attempt at a reboot.

Well, one thing that all fans will agree about it is that we loved Margot Robbie as the crazy barbed-wire bat flinging Harley Quinn in the first movie, and we still love her now.

From what we saw in the trailer, the Clown Princess of Crime was back to her usual self even if she sports a new hairstyle (yeah, apparently, supervillains too need makeovers).

With her lunatic lover, Joker, not returning for the film, we know she has been tasked with creating chaos everywhere she goes.

4. Idris Elba and John Cena Can Make Some Noise

One of the really positive aspects about the trailer is that it shows the addition of newer and exciting characters like WWE wrestler John Cena's Peacemaker, Courtney's Captain Boomerang, Daniela Melchior's Ratcatcher 2, Michael Rooker's Savant, and others.

However, one character that clearly stands out is Idris Elba's Bloodsport, who, as mentioned in the trailer, is responsible for putting Superman in the ICU.

Wow! Wouldn't we like to know more about that?

Well, you can find out when the movie finally releases in theatres and streaming sites on August 6, 2021.Β
