‘Kiske Sath Ghum Raha Hai?’ Fans Bug Pant With ‘Desi Rishtedar’ Questions During Euro 2020

After the World Test Championship final disappointment, the BCCI gave a 20-day official break to the Indian players so that they could recover from the heartbreak and recharge their batteries ahead of the five-Test series against Joe Root’s side in England.

The country is hosting two big sporting events -- Wimbledon and Euro 2020 -- right now, and it was only a matter of time that we saw pictures of the Indian players enjoying the game from the stands.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant posted pictures on social media as he attended the Round of 16 Euro 2020 game between England and Germany at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London.

Sharing a couple of pictures, Pant described it as a “good experience”.

As expected, fans bombarded his post with some hilarious comments. Some advised him to concentrate on his batting more, but there were a bunch of responses that stood out the most, where people replied like a typical ‘desi rishtedar’ bombarding him all sorts of weird questions.

Instead of asking whether he enjoyed the game or not, some of the fans were more concerned about how he managed to get the ticket, if he had booked it beforehand or used some jugaad to get it?

Talking about the game, goals from Raheem Sterling and captain Harry Kane powered England to a 2-0 win over the Germans, who were knocked out in the Round of 16 stage for the first time in tournament’s history.

Joachim Low’s side created a couple of good chances in the first half but were denied by Jordan Pickford’s brilliance and England’s astute defending.

The match was closely-fought but, in the end, England were the deserved winners as they were more clinical in the final third and made most of whatever chances they had.

Coming back to cricket, Rishabh Pant was India’s top-scorer in the second innings of the WTC final but received a lot of hate after he got out playing a reckless shot and was even blamed for not respecting the match situation, especially, with the World Test Championship title on the line.

Pant and the rest of the players are expected to join the squad on July 14 after which they’ll begin their preparations for the England Test series, which also marks the beginning of the next WTC cycle.
