The cabinet reshuffle that took place yesterday is a giant leap taken by the government to direct the future of the country in educated and responsible hands. With more than 40 new leaders elected and inducted in the system, the list includes a mix of engineers, lawyers and doctors as well.
It is being reported to be the youngest cabinet group in our history as well. One of the most educated and promising faces in the ministry that is currently trending is Dr. Ashwini Vaishnaw, who will be the Union Minister of Railways and will also head the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

While not much is known about him as he is one of the few ministers who are being inducted without any previous experience of being a minister of state, one thing which is very impressive for us as citizens of the country is the fact that his academic record is shining like a star, which means he can be trusted to make good decisions while holding the power.
Dr. Vaishnaw is a former IAS officer who graduated from IIT Kanpur and then went on to complete his education at the prestigious Wharton Business School. He was elected as a Rajya Sabha member from Odisha in 2019 and has served at the PMO when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the PM. Dr. Ashwiniβs career stint includes his experience as an IAS officer, a CEO, a politician and even an entrepreneur.Β

He enjoys a great amount of goodwill from the National Human Rights Commission for his work as a collector in Odisha. After he finished his MBA degree at Wharton, he returned back home to crack the Civil services exam. He served as a collector till 2010 when he went on to become the MD for GE Transportation. He also served as a VP at Siemens.
In 2012, he further quit the corporate world and set up two locomotive units in Gujarat. He has been known for speaking up on a lot of issues ranging from Ship Recycling Bill to Women Protection in the Rajya Sabha as well. It is going to be a fresh change of energy in the cabinet to witness him use his prestigious experience in diverse fields and serve the nation.
