The trailer of Farhan Akhtar’s sports drama piqued the interest of the viewers but it seems like the movie hasn’t been able to impress them. The film follows the same template of a former sports star rising from the ashes that we have already seen in many other movies.
Farhan plays the role of a local goon, Aziz Ali, whose life changes when he meets the love of his life, Ananya played by Mrunal Thakur. She pushes him to follow boxing and he soon becomes a champion in the ring. He is at the peak of his boxing career when a twist in his fate pushes him down. Paresh Rawal plays the role of Nana Prabhu who trains Aziz Ali.
Well, the actors have done a great job but are held back by the predictable script. People who have watched the movie echo the same emotions and have also shared their opinions as to why they didn’t like the movie.
1. Love Jihad AnglePeople questioned the whole concept of love-jihad and felt that the director could have made the film without adding the Hindu-Muslim love story angle. One of the Twitter users even went on to say how could Paresh Rawal take up a role wherein Hindus are shown so intolerant.

People also felt that both Farhan and Mrunal lacked chemistry in their love story and it looked forced on the screen. People loved their acting skills but it was the lack of chemistry that turned them off.

People also felt that the script wasn’t up to the mark. They felt it was very generic and dull. Some also felt that the director didn’t focus on the real boxing much and instead relied on too many cliches in the story.

Nonetheless, there are some people who are appreciating the movie and calling it a blockbuster.
