Sidharth Malhotra Feels Blessed As ‘Shershaah’ Becomes Most Watched Amazon Prime India Film

Shershaah is the one Bollywood movie right now that everyone can't stop raving about. The movie is based on Indian martyr Captain Vikram Batra's life and how he fought the most harrowing mountain warfare to protect the nation.

This war was not just any ordinary fight but was done at an altitude of 17,000 feet amid the cold, chilly weather. Apart from the Kargil war, we also get to see Captain Vikram Batra's life in the movie as a young man who falls in love with Dimple Cheena, essayed by Kiara Advani.

The movie seems to be the whole package as it covers most aspects of Vikram Batra's life. The fact that the late Indian Army officer also has a twin brother is intriguing.

The movie has been highly appreciated, and people are raving about it. Sidharth and Kiara are on cloud nine since Shershaah has become the most-watched film in India on Amazon Prime Video.

It was released on August 12, and since then, it has been on everyone's watchlist. It also has an 8.9 IMDb rating.

Sidharth took to Instagram and gave an update to this fan. He wrote, "Overwhelmed with the love and appreciation that we are receiving for #Shershaah. Thank you everyone for making it the most watched film on @primevideoin #FeelingBlessed #YehDilMaangeMore."

Karan Johar, who produced the movie, also wrote, "We are the #1 watched film on Amazon Prime Video! Grateful, overwhelmed & exhilarated by the LOVE & RESPECT that has poured in for #Shershaah. Been an honour to showcase a legacy that will go down in history, once again!"

Even Kiara Advani couldn't contain her excitement as she took to Instagram and shared the news with everyone.

The movie is directed by Vishnu Vardhan and has become a huge hit in no time, despite the theatres remaining shut and being released on an OTT platform.

Karan Johar also said in a statement, "Shershaah has always been a film close to our hearts, and seeing the love and appreciation the film has received makes me feel incredibly proud about the movie and each and everyone associated with it. PVC awardee Captain Vikram Batra's story is one that no Indian shall ever forget, that said, what we intended to do was to tell the story of what made him the braveheart he was, to look deeper into his life, his passion and his love for the country and Dimple."
