Pratik Gandhi Is Powerful In 'Raavan Leela' Trailer But Here’s Why People Think It’s Controversial


If you loved Pratik Gandhi’s performance as Harshad Mehta in Scam 1992, there’s good news for all his fans and viewers that he will soon be enticing us with a rock-solid performance in Raavan Leela. The trailer is out and we have fallen in love with Pratik and Aindrita Ray. Going through the rushes of the trailer, it seems to be an interesting take on the mythological demonic king Raavan set against the backdrop of Ram Leela.

Pratik is so natural on the screen that you get completely convinced that he is the demonic king. A lot has been said about Raavan but in the trailer, we get to see a fresh story wherein Pratik is seen asking that the Lanka King didn’t do any harm to Sita and Lord Rama insulted his sister but he had to pay for it. In the trailer, you also see that Pratik who’s playing Raavan is in love with Sita (played by Aindrita) but that’s not okay with other people.

People are impressed with Pratik’s act but they also think it can create controversies as it might hurt the sentiments of Hindus. A few people are offended and questioned how Bollywood filmmakers are always making movies that insult the Hindu religion.

Raavan Leela (Bhavai) is directed by Hardik Gajjar and also stars Ankur Bhatia, Abhimanyu Singh, Rajesh Sharma, Ankur Vikal, Rajendra Gupta, Gopal Singh, Flora Saini, Anil Rastogi, Krishna Bisht, and Bhagyashree Mote.

Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios had earlier said in a statement, "The film has a very unusual take and it has turned out extremely well. It's a strong content-driven film with melodious music and very good performances, which has always been the focus of Pen Studios. We are extremely excited about the outcome."

Raavan Leela is set to hit theatres on October 1.
