It isn’t exactly a surprise for anyone, but Ram Charan is a proper petrolhead. He has a garage that would make the most ardent of petrolheads green with envy, and for a good reason. Well, he just added another highly sought after car into his already impressive collection.

Although more recently he has been seen driving around in a red Ferrari Portofino, he has an Aston Martin Vantage, a Mercedes S-Class W221, and a Range Rover Autobiography among a plethora of others.

Now, he has taken possession of a Mercedes Maybach GLS 600, the new ‘It’ car for celebrities and actors.

Well, Ranveer Singh was the first to kick things off, before Arjun Kapoor bought one, and very recently, Kriti Sanon. All of them paid a cool Rs 2.76 Crore for their cars (on-road Mumbai).

Given that Ram Charan is a proper petrolhead, and has had some of his other cars tuned and customised, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he has had his Maybach GLS 600 fully customised as well. Apparently, it has a different set of alloy wheels, different front grills (yes, plural, the GLS 600 has two sets of grills), customised leather interiors, including the seats which bear his initials, and custom mood lighting inside the cabin.

These are just some of the customisations that have been done to the car. What we do know for sure is that the drivetrain and driving mechanics, such as the engine, gearbox and suspension set up is stock. And yes, it does get an upgrade on the brakes, reportedly.

All in all, Ram Charan reportedly spent over Rs 4 crore on the car. That means the customisations by themselves would have cost him over Rs 1.24 Crore, if not more. For that much one can easily buy a top-rated Mercedes S-Class with all the bells and whistles one can imagine.

But then, that is the car culture down south, especially in cities like Hyderabad and Bengaluru, where people modify the living hell out of their cars.

Ram Charan’s new ride is dope, there’s simply no other word for it. The fact that he got his car customised from Mercedes themselves and went all out on it, just goes on to show how much he appreciates cars.
