Bigg Boss OTT’s Akshara Singh Says Ex Hired Goons To Attack With Acid And Destroy Her Career

After her recent exit from the Bigg Boss OTT house, actress Akshara Singh  shared her journey so far in an exclusive interview with Times Of India. There was a time where she had switched to making music due to a lack of acting opportunities. However, her stint on Bigg Boss OTT seems to have finally made her a popular figure in Indian households.

Despite the glamour and sparkle of the entertainment industry, Akshara has had to navigate her life through some seriously dangerous times. In fact, Akshara Singh revealed that a disgruntled ex from her past had hired thugs to throw acid on her, “I was chased by a few boys with acid bottles in their hand. They were running behind me. People who do drugs on the streets were sent after me. I just pray to god that no female has to go through what I’ve suffered in my life.”

Detailing the horrific experience from her past, Akshara Singh added, “I was getting so many threats that he would kill me or destroy my career but after my father’s conversation with me I gained so much strength that I stopped caring about anything. I did not even fear for my life. I had faced so many things by then ki maut ka khauff he khatam hogaya tha (I wasn’t afraid of death anymore). I felt kya karoge maroge he na… chalo maar lo (You want to kill me right? So go ahead and kill me). My ex sent a few boys with acid bottles in their hand(s) and also tried to destroy my career."

She credits her family’s unwavering support behind her resilience, “My parents supported me a lot during that phase. From the place I come, usually parents don’t support their girls to join the entertainment industry. And on top of that if something like this (troubled relationship) happens, they just boycott their girls. But I feel I am very lucky that my parents supported me and did not throw me out of the house. I was living a very humiliated life and so was my family. I would sense that they were feeling terrible but they never made me realise that. They stood by me like my pillar of strength. I remember my father telling me something when I was going through depression. Those words of his gave me so much strength that till today it has stayed with me as motivation.”

It’s astounding that even in this day and age women are being threatened with such violence. As a society, we need to take a look at ourselves and hold people accountable so that such instances come with strict consequences.
