Anand Giri, a saint to his followers, is currently swimming in a pool of controversy after his name popped up in the news in association with the death of his guru, Mahant Narendra Giri, who also happened to be the president of Akhil Bhartiya Akhada Parishad.

However, with the power of the internet, people have dug up his ‘flashy’ lifestyle and it has been trending all over the internet. Turns out, ‘chote maharaj’, as he is called by his followers, believed in living a life of shenanigans and glamour.  

A few years ago, he found himself in the middle of a controversy when a picture of him travelling business class with a glass filled with liquor found its way on the internet. Anand Giri dismissed it and claimed it was only apple juice.
