‘Sab Khud Karoge Kya?’ Fans Tease MS Dhoni For Taking Up Another Role After ‘Team Mentor’

Before the T20 World Cup 2021 officially began, the BCCI had announced that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be joining forces with head coach Ravi Shastri and captain Virat Kohli as a mentor and guide the young players of the team with his winning experience in ICC tournaments.

While a mentor’s job commonly consists of advising and imparting their wisdom to the relatively inexperienced apprentices, it feels as if Dhoni has decided to look after every aspect of cricket that the Men in Blue need training with.

Just a couple of days ago, Dhoni could be seen doing certain wicket-keeping drills with Rishabh Pant and it made sense too. The former Indian skipper is considered to be the best to keep wickets for the Indian side and he was trying to help Pant improve his skills as well.

Then ‘Thala’ was seen discussing team strategies with the skipper, head coach, and the vice-captain of the squad Rohit Sharma. This also made sense as Dhoni has proven time and again that he is a master strategist who can continue to win championships just because of his mind, even if he can’t bat the way he did 10 years ago.

However, fans finally ran out of words when they saw ‘Captain Cool’ substitute for the throwdown bowlers during the net practice while allowing his teammates to get some batting sessions in the sun.

Shortly after Dhoni had won his fourth Indian Premier League title with the Chennai Super Kings, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had revealed that when he asked if Dhoni would be interested in staying back with the team as their mentor for the T20 World Cup, the cricketer agreed almost instantly.

Additionally, Shah also mentioned that Dhoni agreed to impart his invaluable knowledge of the game, especially at the biggest stage of them all, to his compatriots, while charging absolutely nothing

India are to begin their T20 World Cup 2021 campaign on Sunday when they play their first match against their biggest rival, the Pakistan cricket squad at the Dubai International Stadium.
