    Days before the release of The Kashmir Files, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri claimed that Kapil Sharma refused to promote his film on his show because it 'lacked big stars'. 
    Kapil had then responded to the controversy saying one shouldn’t believe in a one-sided story. But the trolling didn’t stop. 
    A section of the audience called for a boycott of The Kapil Sharma Show and even dragged producer Salman Khan into the controversy. 
    Amidst the controversy, The Kashmir Files released and rocked the box office.

    For the post-release promotion, Vivek Agnihotri along with Anupam Kher appeared on Times Now and during the conversation, Kher clarified that he was invited by the makers of The Kapil Sharma Show but he refused since their film’s subject was not in sync with a comedy show. 

    However, the clip that Kapil posted was only 46 seconds long whereas the actual clip about the controversy was over a minute long. 
    In the clip posted by Kapil, Anupam can be heard saying, “To be very honest I must say it here I was called to be on the show. Maine Harman, jo mere manager hai, usko kaha tha ki ‘Ye film bari serious hai, main isme nahi ja sakta hun (I had told Harman, my manager, 'This film is very serious, I can't go on the show)'. So I want to put my point over here. It happened around two months ago that I was told 'Aap aa jaiye (Please come)'. I have been on the show a few times and it's a funny show. It's very difficult to do a funny show and he does it very well. I don't think Kapil has any malice towards us or towards the film.”
    In the longer clip, Anupam also adds that the reason given to Vivek was the one he mentioned on Twitter that they weren’t invited to the comedy show because their film lacked big stars. 
    Vivek then added that this was the official reason given to him by The Kashmir Files producer Zee Studios. 
    Since Kapil posted only the shorter clip while thanking Anupam Kher for his clarification, the veteran actor responded by asking him to not share the “half truth”. 
    Anupam Kher replied, “Dear @KapilSharmaK9 ! I wish you had posted the full video and not the half truth. The entire world is celebrating, you also celebrate tonight. Love and prayers always!”

    But that wasn’t enough as trolls came after Kapil again post Anupam’s reply about sharing “half truth”. 
    One user wrote, “I am not surprised to know that Kapil Sharma is hiding something. He has circulated half truth. What a loser @KapilSharmaK9”. 
    Another wrote, “I knew that, The Kapil Sharma is hiding something. I don't like that person from starting.”

    In a shocking incident, the Baahubali star's die-hard fan has ended his life by committing suicide. He was reportedly furious with Prabhas' recently-released film, Radhe Shyam, which received negative reviews and resolved to take his life. The sad incident took place in Tilak Nagar, in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. 
    The 24-year-old fan died by suicide by hanging himself at his home. Before hanging himself, he reportedly told his mother about the film's negative reviews. After hearing the news, the police rushed to the spot, and an inquiry was launched.

    For the unversed, Radhe Shyam had been in the works for nearly three years. After facing several delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie was finally released on March 11. Across the country, Prabhas' fans flocked to theatres to commemorate the day by building cutouts and exploding crackers.
    In Radhe Shyam, Prabhas has portrayed the role of a palmist whose prophecies are never wrong. Things change, though, when he falls in love with Pooja Hegde and the story took a tragic turn. Besides Prabhas and Pooja, the film also features Sachin Khedekar, Kunal Roy Kapur, Priyadarshi, Murli Sharma, Bhagyashree, Sathyan, and Riddhi Kumar.

    The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will see some major changes to the playing conditions. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced several new rules that will have a direct impact on the game.
    All these new rules have received mixed reactions from the supporters. Some have found immediate acceptance, like the increased number of reviews per innings, while others, like deciding the winners if Super Over isn’t possible, have led to a huge uproar on social media.

    One of the welcome changes is increasing the number of DRS for each innings. Till last year, each team was awarded one unsuccessful DRS in each innings but the limit has been increased to two.

    What prompted this change was the terrible umpiring decisions that were made throughout the last season. There were instances where some high-profile players were seen getting in a heated argument with the umpires after they had made some poor on-field calls.

    Keeping that in mind, the IPL Governing Council has approved one extra DRS for each innings so that howlers like last season can be brought down as much as possible.
    “In each innings, the number of reviews have been increased from one to two,” the BCCI said in its communique sent to the franchises as reported by Cricbuzz.

    It was definitely a welcome change for most of the supporters as it would give all the leaders more power to challenge the contentious calls made by the on-field officials and thus limit the umpiring howlers.
    Most fans hailed the decision but still there were some people who weren’t pleased about it. Their argument being that it would hand some teams an unfair advantage over the others.

    The Kashmir Files has emerged as a giant slayer in the box office, something that has almost never happened in the history of Indian cinema. The fact that a super small budget movie with minimal promotions and no big names in the starcast can achieve this, that too in a country like India, is extremely impressive.

    However, what is the reason why people throughout the country are thronging to the theatres, despite it not being a 'feel-good' or 'masala-entertainer' movie? The reason is the subject itself, and the fact that this narrative, the one that shows things from the POV of Kashmiri Pandits themselves, has never been explored so unapologetically. Political correctness is not something the makers worried about while telling the story, and that precisely is the reason why it has ended up being a blockbuster.

    A number of videos have surfaced on social media, that show Kashmiri Pandits breaking down post the movie in theatres, deeply emotional and in tears. The reason for that, apart from PTSD, is the direct reference to a number of real life documented incidents in the movie, that have been shown in raw, gory details. Here are 4 such incidents. Please note, these can count as 'spoilers' even though the documented evidence of these incidents have been around for more than 30 years.
    1. Bitta Karate InterviewIn the beginning of the trailer of The Kashmir Files, an interview has been shown, which is almost a frame by frame adaptation of the real interview of Bitta Karate, a compulsive killer who admitted having murdered at least 20-25 Kashmiri Pandits. Here are both the YouTube videos.


    2. The Killing Of BK Ganjoo Inside A Rice DrumThe gruesome murder of Anupam Kher's son shown in the movie, where he is shot left right and center inside a rice drum, and his wife subsequently fed the same rice laced with her husband's blood by the terrorists, is based on a real life incident - the murder of telecom engineer BK Ganjoo.
    March, 1990. Terrorists came for BK Ganjoo. He hid inside a rice barrel. His Muslim neighbour informed on him.

    3. The Gruesome Rape & Killing Of Girija Tickoo With A Carpenter SawThe character of Sharda played by Bhasha Sumbli in the movie, suffers a death so gruesome, that perhaps has never been shown in a Bollywood movie. She is cut alive in two halves with a mechanical carpenter saw. The incident is a reference to the Girija Tickoo case, who was raped before being faced with the same gruesome death. Her niece has come out with a post on Instagram post the release of the movie. Here is the post.

    4. The 1998 Wandhama Massacre The last scene in the movie is a direct reference to the heartbreaking Wandhama massacre of 1998, where 25 Kashmiri Hindus in the town of Wandhama were killed. The victims included four children and nine women. The Lashkar-e-Taiba/ Hizbul Mujahideen was blamed for perpetrating the massacre. A Twitter user shared a message from his father on the same. His father was a journalist.

    There are many more references of real life incidents in the movie, that will be apparent once anyone starts reading up old reports on the Kashmiri Pandit exodus/genocide. The movie has been gathering more and more momentum in the box office, and may just end up breaking a lot of unexpected records if it continues its dream run.

    Australia agreed to tour Pakistan after 24 years and while cricket fans were excited to see two good Test sides going up against each other, the pitches have left everyone disappointed.  
    In the first Test in Rawalpindi, the pitch was flat as a highway and bowlers from both teams struggled to pick wickets. 
    Only 11 wickets fell in the first four Days of the first Test and even the International Cricket Council (ICC) rated the Rawalpindi pitch below average.

    Pakistan Cricket Board chief Ramiz Raja came out in defence of the surface used in the first Test and said that they did not want to gift a win to the visitors, and because their batting and bowling opening combination was new, they decided not to take any risk.  
    After a disappointing result in the first Test, both teams moved to Karachi for the next game and all eyes were on the pitch. However, PCB did not learn from its mistake and again, produced a flat track for batters to pile on runs and Australia, after winning the toss and opting to bat, did just that.

    The visitors, thanks to a big hundred from Usman Khawaja and handy contributions from Steve Smith and Alex Carey, put on 556 runs on the board after batting for over two days.  
    Unhappy with the approach of PCB in the historic tour, former Australia captain Mark Taylor came hard at Ramiz Raja and the Pakistan board.

    "Firstly, the two pitches we've had, at Rawalpindi and at Karachi, have been roads. They are hard, you can see there's not much grass on them. Pakistan bowling is very good, they've got some very good quicks these days. It looks to me like they haven't backed their side in general," he added.
    As Taylor showed the mirror to PCB, Pakistan fans too joined the former Australian captain and criticised PCB for embarrassing them in world cricket.

    Post Zero in 2018, fans were eagerly waiting for Shah Rukh Khan’s next film but there was no official announcement. Soon, reports started doing the rounds about SRK starring in Yash Raj Films’ espionage thriller Pathaan. 
    While the film was still unannounced, Salman Khan made it official during a casual conversation on Bigg Boss thereby ruining the surprise of an official announcement. For the unversed, Salman has a cameo in Pathaan, which he also revealed months before the film's official announcement.

    Bhai has done something similar again. 

    It so happened that SRK took to Twitter and surprised fans with a tweet regarding something related to OTT. 
    He shared an image of himself with a logo that read, “SRK+” and in his caption the superstar wrote, “Kuch kuch hone wala hai, OTT ki duniya mein.”

    Shortly after SRK’s tweet, a lot of social media users started wondering what was in store for them. Is SRK making his OTT debut, announcing a reality show or his own OTT platform? 
    The tweet went viral with all sorts of speculations but the curiosity amongst the fans was short-lived as Bhai soon spoiled SRK’s surprise by actually revealing what the tweet is all about. 
    He simply tweeted, “Aaj ki party teri taraf se @iamsrk. Congrats on your new OTT app, SRK+”.

    Bollywood actress Zareen Khan has called out the Bollywood industry for not giving her better opportunities in order for her to justify her potential.

    Zareen made her Bollywood debut back in 2010 in superstar Salman Khan's film Veer, and it was said to be the start of something special for her.

    However, 12 years on, Zareen has struggled to cement her place in the industry.

    She's clearly had ups and downs in the industry, like a lot of other actors and actresses, however, she's spoken in detail about what were some of the main reasons behind her struggle.
    According to Zareen, one of the most important factors that she thinks was behind her not getting more work in Bollywood was her lack of connections in the industry.
    “The most important thing to be a part of this industry is to be very social, attend all the parties, and connecting to people. Being seen at these parties is so important for your job. Since I did not make that much effort to kind of becoming friends with people from the business, I lacked opportunities.” said Zareen.

    The actress also spoke on how people in the industry mostly give work to their friends.

    “The major trend right now is that everybody is everybody’s friend and they are working with their friends. How will people like me get work if people keep recommending their friends in Bollywood?” she said.
    Zareen, who has been part of Akshay Kumar's Housefull franchise also spoke on how she wanted people to think of her as more than eye candy and give her work on the basis of her acting credentials.
    “They have judged me on what they have seen on screen. They are not really open to giving me a chance and that look at me beyond just a hot, eye candy. Just audition me, give me that chance,” said Zareen.
    So far, the actress has worked in movies like Housefull 2 (2012), Punjabi film Jatt James Bond (2014), Hate Story 3 (2015), Aksar 2 (2017), 1921 (2018), and other regional language films.

    Ever since the release of The Kashmir Files, Kangana Ranaut has been quite active on social media. From slamming the “movie mafia” for not promoting the film to calling the Mithun Chakraborty starrer the first successful Hindi film post-pandemic, Kangana has been after Bollywood and how. 
    Now, the actress has finally watched the film and had some great things to say about it but not without slamming Bollywood, as usual. 
    She was spotted coming out of a screening and told the paps that The Kashmir Files is a well-made film and the makers have even helped clear the image of Bollywood with this film.

    She also asked Bollywood folks to come out and support the film instead of promoting the 'bakwaas films' that they do. 

    She said, “Inhonein poori film industry ke jitne bhi kiye hue paap hain, aaj inhonein dho diye sabne milke. Bollywood ke bhi paap dho diye inhonein.     Many of us remember it not because we saw England – the place where cricket was born – lift their maiden 50-over World Cup trophy but because of all the drama and the controversy that deprived the Blackcaps the world championship title.

    Apart from the English supporters, billions of cricket fans, spread across the length and breadth of the planet, were aggrieved when New Zealand players had to settle down with the runners-up medals around their necks at the Lord’s despite scoring the same number of runs as their counterparts – first in the regulation play and then in the Super Over.
    It all happened because the ICC were too naive while framing the rules and regulations for the tournament. The world governing body’s shortsightedness is what made them assume that one Super Over would be enough to determine the winner and they approved of a weird tie-breaker rule.

    The reason why we have brought up this issue once again is because the richest cricket board in the world, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has introduced a somewhat similar rule for this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL).

    The IPL is the most popular T20 league in the world not because of the finances involved but the high quality of cricket it offers to the cricket aficionados all over the world.

    Due to intense competition, every year we see so many games going to the wire, with the winner determined by the Super Over(s). However, the BCCI in its latest directive has told the franchises that in case a Super Over, or Super Overs is not completed within the given time frame during the playoffs, the team with higher position in the league phase will be declared as the winner. 

    “If conditions do not permit a Super Over, or subsequent Super Overs within the time available to determine the winner as described, then the team which, at the end of the relevant regular season, finished in the higher position in the league table will be deemed the winner of the relevant play-off match,” the BCCI said in its communique to the franchises as reported by Cricbuzz.

    As expected the decision was not well received by the supporters and they slammed the BCCI for trying to kill the fun with their arbitrary rules.

It’s a clear indication that the finishing on top means nothing when it comes to the playoffs.     Controlling conditions is not in BCCI’s hands but what they can do is allot a reserve day for the all the playoffs ties so that the winners are decided on the field of play not by some unfair tie-breaker rule.
