Oh, the ever existential topic of coping with one’s feelings! No matter how much we try, these darned feelings manage to catch up to us and make us feel things even if we’re not willing to, like reluctant students unwilling to acknowledge that something beyond their control may be influencing their grades.
As men, it’s not easy for us to talk about our feelings. I won’t say we’re not built that way, rather we’re not raised that way. We have grown up in a society where we’ve had a cavalcade of responsibilities thrust upon us from a very young age, yes there might be certain avenues in society where we might benefit from certain privileges, but often what looks like privilege can actually be a double edged sword ready to harm the wielder as well.
Our experiences of growing up as men have unwittingly shaped us, whether we like it or not. Each time we held in a tear for fear of ridicule, we added to our misery. With each smile we snuffed, our distancing from our inner selves magnified till there came a point where we’re utterly incapable of regulating emotions unless it's through (passive)aggressive means, hyper sexuality or just the good ol’ turning a blind eye to it.
Here are snippets from r/AskMen, where men have decided to confront the mess of emotions that was inside their head with the help of a therapist:

You’ve to be clear and comfortable about your expectations with therapy. If you’re uncomfortable about taking any medications, be upfront about it.

In our country, conversations around mental illnesses are still stigmatised. For many, it isn’t until they’re much older and have undergone therapy for a while, that they begin to realize they might actually be neurodivergent.

    © r/AskMen
Because we’re told to bottle up our feelings, we lose the opportunity to confront the distorted image of us and the world that we paint in our heads.

One of the crucial aspects of therapy is repertoire. It’s not granted that all therapists would work for you. All mental health professionals are unique, and you’ve got to find who best fits your needs.

Therapy can be life changing for some men, but it doesn’t always have to be that way. Sometimes its benefits can be more understated.

    © r/AskMen
Don’t give up, if you’ve had a bad experience with a therapist.

    © r/AskMen
Working on yourself with a therapist can give you access to parts of your mind that you didn’t even know existed. As men we tend to shut off these parts to ourselves.

Agoraphobia is quite common in men, and it can definitely be overcome with the help of a therapist.

Certain calamitous moments in life might leave men stunned, unable to respond. A therapist helps you go through these rough patches safely.

No question, thought or feeling is invalid. Even if you’ve been made to feel that way by society.

Men, your feelings are valid. Reach out if you need help.

No amount of words can describe the immense pride and the overflow of emotions resonated by the feeling of patriotism. Our brave soldiers gave up their own security of living a safe life so we could sleep in peace, knowing that we are protected. One can only imagine the pain endured by the families of the martyrs who lay down their lives as they bravely serve the nation. Here are a few instances where the wives of martyred army officers showed their bravery and served the nation:

    1. Captain Shalini SinghShe got married to her husband Major Avinash Bhadauria at the age of 19 and at 23, her husband became a martyr after fighting in Doda, Kashmir with 8 Rashtriya Rifles Unit against a group of terrorists. She left her post graduation midway to appear and clear the SSB interview and was called for a week long interview. She faced many hurdles, including bringing her toddler and her parents along. On 7th September 2002, this brave woman was inducted officially as an officer in the Indian Army. Captain Shalini served in the Army for five years before retiring.

She eventually got inducted in the Corps of the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) of the Indian Army.

He might be Delhi’s Chief Minister today and people know him for his politics now but we had no idea about Arvind Kejriwal until 2011 when he joined forces with activist Anna Hazare for the introduction of the Jan Lokpal Bill. Yes, we all know he is famously known as the muffler-man but do we know enough about him?
    View this post on Instagram
Arvind Kejriwal was born on August 16, 1968, at Sivani in Haryana, about 150km from Delhi, to Gobind Ram Kejriwal and Gita Devi. He was a topper in all educational endeavours of his life and that’s why he was able to clear UPSC. In fact, he attempted IIT-JEE and cracked it in his first attempt.

He was probably leading a dream life of an engineer as he landed a job in Tata Steel after completing his graduation in mechanical engineering from the one of most esteemed institutes of technology in India. It was during his professional stint at Tata Steel he realized that he wanted to serve his nation and after clearing his UPSC examination, he joined Indian Revenue Services (IRS) in 1995.
As a part of the Indian political system, he realized how deep-rooted corruption is and while serving as an IRS officer, he founded Parivartan, a grass-root activism organization in New Delhi. It was after a few years that he decided to resign from the position of Joint Commissioner of Income Tax in 2006 and it was in 2010, he started taking steps that led him to become Delhi’s Chief Minister.

He was the main activist in Anna Hazare’s camp but due to ideological differences with the latter, he formed his own political party called Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) in 2012. And the rest is history.

Today, Arvind Kejriwal is celebrating his 53rd birthday and we thought of celebrating it Bollywood style. If a biopic is ever made on him in the future, we think these 5 Bollywood actors can totally nail his character.
    1. Manoj Bajpayee View this post on Instagram
The very first name that popped in our heads is that of Manoj Bajpayee. We have seen him take up roles like that of Bhonsle and we know that he can play any character with utmost dedication. We are sure that he will be a perfect fit for the role of Arvind Kejriwal and can pull off the moustache look with ease.
    2. Pankaj Tripathi View this post on Instagram
We can totally imagine Pankaj Tripathi as Arvind Kejriwal as he breathes life into every character he portrays on the screen. Tripathi's mastery of his craft has been on display in his work spanning across Gangs Of Wasseypur to Mirzapur. Pankaj Tripathi has indeed excelled in every role that he has done so far.
    3. Nawazuddin Siddiqui View this post on Instagram
With his powerful performances and realistic method acting, Nawaz certainly can play Arvind Kejriwal. After seeing the conviction with which he portrayed Sadat Hasan Manto in Manto, he is kinda our favourite to pull off Arvind Kejriwal's role.
    4. Deepak Dobriyal View this post on Instagram
Deepak Dobriyal can also be a perfect fit for the role of Arvind Kejriwal. Having already played a role in the past that was modeled on Kejriwal, we have no doubt over his ability to do it again.
    5. Rajkummar Rao View this post on Instagram
Rajkummar Rao is one of the most versatile actors we have seen in the industry. We have seen him play Subhash Chandra Bose to perfection and we are sure that he can play Arvind Kejriwal too in his future biopic.
Honestly, though, we won't be surprised if Arvind himself decides to step up and play his part in a Bollywood film. Nonetheless, who do you think is best suited to play Arvind Kejriwal in his biopic? Let us know in the comments below.

The tale of the struggling bollywood actor is one everybody’s familiar with. A seemingly ordinary person with dreams of being on the silver screen abandons the path frequently tread, instead choosing the way less taken. A move to Mumbai soon follows, where the struggling talent fails to make ends meet, and more often than not gets caught in the horrid underbelly of the entertainment industry. Not many make it out of this rut. Many abandon their dreams midway because reality becomes far too difficult to bear. A few find roles that keep the ball rolling, till bigger things come their way.

The Bollywood entertainment industry thrives on attention, truly sustaining in the belief that any publicity is good publicity. As witnessed by the meteoric rise of the Bollywood actor, Sonu Sood.
A Simple Start Sonu Sood’s youth was spent in Nagpur, even though his family hails from Moga, Punjab. His mother was a professor while his father ran a garment shop. Although he did his degree in electrical engineering from Nagpur, his heart was set on becoming an actor.

But it was more difficult than he had anticipated.
In a past interaction with IANS he had recalled his difficulties in getting work,"I thought that if I roamed around in Film City, a director or a producer would spot me and cast me in their project, which never happened. It is only because of my parents' blessings that I am here now.”
Surviving in Mumbai wasn't easy for him, his youngest sister Malvika Sood Sachar disclosed to The Indian Express, "When my brother was an engineering student in Nagpur, he would travel back home sleeping on the floor in vacant small spaces near toilets in the train compartments. Our father would send him money, but he would just try to save whatever he could. He always valued our father’s hard work.”
Breakthrough RoleSonu Sood has been a consistent performer. Even though his 2002 debut Shaheed-E-Azam may not have managed to leave an impression, his performance as Abhishek Bachchan’s younger brother in Mani Ratnam’s Yuva definitely did.
He played a slew of minor roles in several movies like Jodhaa Akbar and Ek Niranjan. But it was with the 2010 blockbuster Dabangg, starring Salman Khan where he truly gained widespread recognition. His role as the antagonist, Chedi Singh served as a worthy foil to Salman’s effervescent Chulbul Pandey.

The sky was truly the limit for Sonu Sood after his stint in the limelight, having acted in several big ticket films like R… Rajkumar, Shootout At Wadala, Happy New Year and Simmba to varying reception. More importantly, he had finally found stability in the industry.

Covid Heroics Despite being an established name in the industry, Sonu was still distant from the adulation that other actors enjoyed.
    That changed in 2020.
At a time when Bollywood was being attacked from all sides (Sushant Singh Rajput suicide, Rhea Chakraborty fiasco), and the world had been brought to a standstill by the pandemic, a new crisis had emerged.
Migrant labourers were about to face one of the largest humanitarian crises in recent history, and most of the world stood frozen by the inept way it had been handled by the powers that be.
Bollywood’s name had been tarnished by accusations of nepotism, with everyone from Alia Bhatt to Karan Johar having their characters assassinated on primetime television.
Enter, Sonu Sood. Unencumbered by any accusations of nepotism,  since he had made his name with blood, sweat and tears, Sonu took to the streets to provide on-ground relief to the migrants. Doing things that the elected representatives had been falling short of.
    View this post on Instagram
In an interview with The Indian Express, Sonu Sood’s youngest sister revealed, “When he was struggling to begin his modelling career in Mumbai, he lived in rooms where there wasn’t even an inch of space to toss and turn while sleeping. He would have to stand up to turn sides…there was no space. Maybe that’s why now he can understand the pain of migrants, that longing and helplessness to just reach home."

His journey to the top of the industry may not have been easy, and in fact it may still be considered a work in progress, however his Covid heroics, where he actively helped provide relief to countless migrant workers, has made him the aam junta’s messiah. And it is this achievement that shines brightest in his legacy within the entertainment industry.

Dating apps are equally fun and exhausting. While there are people who met the one and swiped right for life, there are some who are still scavenging apps for true love (or hook-ups) which feels like searching for a needle in the haystack.

Whether or not you end up finding what you are looking for, you do meet some crazy people on these apps. I won’t lie, while I have dated a couple of guys and met some really good friends (things don’t always work out romantically), I have blocked some super weird guys too. The spectrum of personalities you come across on online dating platforms is that broad.

    © T-series
To give you a quick glimpse of the world, here are 10 types of dudes that every woman has met on dating apps. If you have not met them, you are probably one of them.

    © iStock
    1. The Gym FreakOne look at their profile and you know your first date would be an intense physical activity (not the one you were hoping for) like hiking or a bike ride. His photos mostly feature gym selfies with his naked torso that show off his six-pack abs.
    2. Here For The ‘GramThe guy who’s there to connect on Instagram and increase his followers. You never hear from him again after you add him on Insta and end up deleting him after a while.
    3. Mr. RightHe has a funny bio, nice photos and seems genuine when you talk to him. What’s the catch? Well, he might be the one or you may find out he is catfishing. It can be either of the two. Guess, you will only find out on the date.
    © iStock
    4. The ‘D*ck’Why I have a certain name for this category is because either their profile has a d*ck pic or they would send you one after you’ve matched.
    5. The ClingHe would seem okayish but as you keep on chatting, you realise he is a total creep. He will bombard you with “Hey dear.” “Why you no reply me?” “Good morning” “U der?” And, that’s exactly your cue to unmatch.
    6. The TravellerHis profile looks like a catalogue for holiday destinations and he would boast about his travel bucket list that he wants to tick off.
    © iStock
    7. The Family GuyHe would have photos with friends and family and at first it would be hard to make out who among the clan is the owner of the profile.
    8. The HollowHis profile would be as empty as your life. He'll have one blurred selfie or a photo of a guitar. You will find nothing except his name and would most probably think if he’s a secret agent of RAW.
    9. The Pet Dad He would have pictures with his dog/cat/parrot/tortoise and would come across as a caring person. Damn, we always fall for such guys.
    © iStock
    10. The ‘Shashi Tharoor’He uses big, fancy (scary sometimes) words out of the Oxford dictionary in his bio but when you talk to him, he is either exceptionally basic or says things like “I didn’t knew you are passed away from my school.”
