  1. When it comes to press conferences, there is nobody better than Rohit Sharma to be on the answering end of the microphone. The Indian captain knows when to get serious and when to have fun with the journalists and ahead of the first Test between India and Sri Lanka, he was in the mood to have some fun at the conference. According to a hilarious video shared by the official Twitter handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sharma was asked whether or not he had set a goal for himself regarding the number of International Test matches that he would want to play for his country. #TeamIndia Captain @ImRo45 at his hilarious best in the press conference #INDvSL | @Paytm pic.twitter.com/0tw6EPFg6V — BCCI (@BCCI) March 3, 2022 Obviously, this question originated out of the fact that the former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli will be playing the 100th International red-ball match of his career in Mohali on Friday and is being celebrated by cricket fans from all over the country. While responding to this question in a serious tone, Sharma let out a bleak smile before saying that he was absolutely happy with where he is in his career while having played “40-something matches” (the first match against Sri Lanka would be his 44th International Test). Here’s where the skipper tried to describe his true feeling with the help of a Hindi idiom but ended up misusing it which led to some hilarious reactions on social media. Trying to say how his cricketing career has been full of ups and downs, Hitman said that he had been through a lot of “ann bann” to get where he is. Here’s how Rohit Sharma fans responded to the cricketer’s hilarious interview: Rohit Sharma and Press conference never ending love story .... — |/|®.ÇHÄMPÍØÑZ (@mrchampion036z) March 3, 2022When to comes to attending a press conference, Rohit sharma always carry Some savage reply to the media persons Love this man — Santosh Mohan Phukan (@Santoshmohan174) March 3, 2022Aaise aadmi se pyaar kyun nahi hoga yaar — Nimita (@nimxs_12) March 3, 2022He is like press conference nahi hai mai to dosto se baat karne yaha aaya hu. He is known for his hilarious press conference. — রাজু সরকার (@ImRaju26) March 3, 2022“Ann bann” refers to having some sort of disagreement with another person and considering the ever-so-controversial relationship between Kohli and Sharma, the words ended up feeling like the most eyebrow-raising thing the latter would have said ever in a press conference. Thankfully, Sharma quickly apologised for not knowing what the phrase meant and confessed that his Hindi wasn’t very good. By this time, the journalist had already assisted the cricketer with the right proverb “utaar chadhav (rise and fall)” to which Sharma agreed. View the full article
