Not all Bollywood stars start big or have a dream launch in the Hindi film industry. A lot of them, especially those who do not belong to the film background, have to struggle and start out their careers with minor roles in TV and films before they get their big break. Rajkummar Rao, who is now one of the most bankable actors in Bollywood, has a similar story.

Rao has a glorious trajectory in films. He has given some of the best performances in Bollywood and many awards and accolades to his name. However, his first role was barely a three-second, uncredited appearance in a big movie. It was an Amitabh Bachchan starrer, to be precise. Rao recently shared this on the show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati  13’ which is hosted by Bachchan.

The promo of the Shandaar Shanivaar episode shows Rao asking Bachchan to stand and look into the camera for five seconds with him. He shared the reason for this request was he wanted to share the screen with the superstar in his debut film but couldn’t.

“In my first film Rann, I did a three-second role in the film. I really wanted to do a scene with you, but I didn’t get the chance. So I thought instead of three seconds, I’ll get to share the screen with you for five seconds,” he said.

He was talking about 2010 movie Rann  where he played a newsreader that appears for a few seconds, while Amitabh played the CEO of the same newschannel, Vijay Harshwardhan Malik.

"Sir has been my co-actor so what if he doesn't remember that I was in the film?” he said to Kriti when she told Bachchan, “Sir, he has said that you've asked him to call you AB ji.” To this, Bachchan humbly responds, “So what? AB is my name.” Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon will be making an appearance on the show this Saturday to promote their upcoming movie Hum Do Humare Do.

It was Rajkummar’s first minor role in Rann for which he wasn’t even given name credits. His next movie was his first big break Love *** Aur Dhokha released in 2010 that brought him fame and success. And, there was no turning back.
