‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ Warner Left Embarrassed After Trying To Copy Ronaldo’s Act

Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably the greatest footballer of all time. Thanks to his massive fan-following, anything he does ends up making a huge headline. Ask Coca Cola.

The giant beverage manufacturers reportedly suffered a massive loss of $4 billion after the Portuguese star removed two Coca Cola bottles during a pre-match press conference ahead of their Euro 2020 opening group match against Hungary in June this year.

The whole world took note as Ronaldo kept the bottles aside and urged everyone to drink water instead of carbonated drinks.

Following in the footsteps of Manchester United forward, Australian opener David Warner also tried to repeat the same thing during the post-match press conference after his side registered a comfortable seven-wicket over Sri Lanka to notch up their second consecutive win in the ongoing T20 World Cup

However, when Warned tried to slip the soft drink bottles under the table, he was stopped then and there and was asked to put them back at their place.

Prior to the Sri Lanka match, the last months were very tough on Warner. He was going through a rough patch for quite some time and came into this tournament after a dismal IPL season with SunRisers Hyderabad.

He was stripped of his captaincy duties and was, eventually, dropped on the bench in this year’s IPL after just a couple of poor outings in the second leg.

The 35-year-old opener, however, turned things around on Thursday when he scored a match-winning half-century, helping his side chase down the 155-run target against the Island nation quite convincingly.

As much as he made headlines with his on-field heroics, his actions at the post-match press conference left him embarrassed as he was asked to put the bottles back.

“Can I move this?” Warner asked.

“Do I have to put it there?” he said, when asked to place the bottles back on the table.

“It’s good enough for Cristiano, it’s good enough for me. That’s right,” said the Australian southpaw as he put the bottles back.

The video of the incident has gone viral on social media and is getting mixed reactions.

Some are praising Warner for showing guts and sending a strong message while others are making fun of him after he was forced to return the bottles back to their actual place.

Things might not have gone down for Warner as he intended it to in the presser but one thing did go his way is that he found his form back.

Australia would be hoping that he continues with the same form and keeps winning matches for them.
