‘No One's More Disappointed’ Kohli Reflects On T20 WC Early Exit But Fans Are Over The Moon

Virat Kohli might have closed his T20I captaincy chapter with a dominant nine-wicket win over minnows Namibia in the last group match of the T20 World Cup but it wasn’t the ideal end.

Unlike Test cricket, where he guided the team to some historic and memorable victories, the same can’t be said about his white-ball captaincy as people always criticise him for not winning any ICC trophy.

He entered the tournament hoping to break that jinx but a couple of bad days in the office and the team was knocked out of the tournament. His millions of fans, who wanted him to end his T20 captaincy tenure with a silverware, were left disappointed but no one is more disappointed than India’s modern-day great.

After the match, ‘King Kohli’ penned a heartfelt message for his fans and the supporters of the Indian cricket team and expressed how gutted he was with India’s early exit from the tournament. He thanked the fans for always supporting him and his teammates in their thick and thin and promised to come back stronger than ever.

Together as one we set out to achieve our goal.Unfortunately we fell short and no one is more disappointed than us as a side. The support from all of you has been fantastic and we are grateful for it all.We will aim to come back stronger and put our best foot forward. “Together as one we set out to achieve our goal.Unfortunately we fell short and no one is more disappointed than us as a side,” Kohli wrote on the micro-blogging site.

“The support from all of you has been fantastic and we are grateful for it all. We will aim to come back stronger and put our best foot forward,” he added.

The fans also thanked the Indian talisman for his services and taking the country to new heights in the game’s fastest format. But more than the disappointment they were happy that he was finally relieved of the T20I captaincy burden.

You've been exceptional as a leader in T20is, thank you Virat. Hope you dominate now as a batsman in T20is.

Unfinished business as a batsman in T20 cricket as well.
With captaincy burden off, the best is yet to come from the greatest T20I batsman of all time
Another MOT in WT20 2022 but this time hopefully, a Title for India

His passionate supporters hoped that it would help him get back to his fluent best and they would get to see him become the best version of himself and score tons of runs like he used to do a couple of years back.

Kohli led India in exactly 50 matches and emerged victorious in 32 games and lost 16 matches, while two matches failed to yield any result.

During his tenure, he also became the only Asian skipper to win bi-lateral T20 series in SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia).

He might have won any major ICC title but he definitely left the team in a better state than he inherited and we all must thank him for that.
