Fans of the show will be surprised to learn that the director-duo are not going for either of them. Instead the actor they have in mind is very unusual.

A source close to the makers of the film has revealed that the Indian version of Money Heist has been named Three Monkeys as of now, and will feature 3 robbers, along with the Professor. One of the thieves will be portrayed by Mustafa Burmawala, son of director Abbas.

The source also revealed that the film will go on the floors by the end of this month, or in early December, and will be shot in Mumbai, and a couple of international locations. The filmmakers are looking for a mid 2022 release.
Although it may come across as a bit surprising that Arjun Rampal has been cast as the professor, he is a capable actor and can actually pull off the character. He certainly has the looks and style to play the Professor.

What will be interesting to see is how receptive the Indian audiences will be, towards the remake of a show like Money Heist, which still continues to enjoy a massive popularity. Given that Money Heist has been one of the most streamed originals show from Netflix, especially in India, will audiences cosy upto a remake this soon?
