Not all superstars in Bollywood have made it to the top easily. It’s a long way up for being successful and one has to work every day, which means ups and downs are inevitable.

Some of the biggest names in the industry have resorted to work when times have been tough, which included doing a B-grade film at some point. Contrary to popular belief, B- grade films are simply movies made with a small budget and not always pornographic in nature. 

Here are 5 actors who once starred in a B-grade film which were not a commercial success:

1. Amitabh Bachchan in Boom

One would wonder what Big B was thinking but in this industry, ups and downs are a part of the process. Big B played ‘Bade Mia’, leader of a Mafia mob involved in smuggling diamonds. The movie was a commercial flop and also marked the debut of actress Katrina Kaif in Bollywood.

2. Akshay Kumar in Mr. Bond

Now you’d think Khiladi Kumar speaks nothing and looks at nothing under Rs 100 crore but long before he broke into that level of success, Akshay did a movie titled Mr. Bond opposite Sheeba. It was a detective action thriller.

3. Mithun Chakraborty in Classic Dance Of Love

The star of the 80s once starred in a movie titled Classic Dance Of Love which also starred Meghna Naidu. Mithun Da plays Dr. Ram Gopal Acharya who falls in love with a bar dancer.

4. Manisha Koirala in Ek Chhoti Si Love Story

The beautiful actress once starred in the famous or rather the infamous movie Ek Chhoti Si Love Story which also had Aditya Seal.

5. Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Miss Lovely

The Sacred Games star has never shied away from experimenting and was once praised for his performance in this dark tale of love titled Miss Lovely. He plays a filmmaker in the movie and the film also stars Niharika Singh.
