'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Wreaks Havoc At Box Office; Hits A Century In Opening Weekend


The third instalment in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man franchise, Spider-Man: No Way Home is breaking and creating records left, right and centre not just in the US but in the other parts of the world as well.  

The movie released in India on December 16 and opened to a record-breaking Rs 32.67 crore net collection. The biggest this year when compared to Hindi films even beating Sooryavanshi. On day 2, it collected Rs 20.37 crore, day 3 was Rs 26.10 crore and on day 4 it made Rs 29.23 crore.

Over its 4-day opening weekend, Spider-Man: No Way Home has grossed a mammoth Rs 138.55 crore. The net collection is Rs 108.37 crore. 

Sharing the film’s box office collection, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “‘SPIDERMAN’ SETS NEW BENCHMARKS IN INDIA… #SpiderMan: #NoWayHome emerges #SonyIndia’s HIGHEST GROSSING FILM in #India… ALSO, it surpasses *lifetime biz* of #SpiderMan movies [Gross BOC] in just *4 days*… 4-day *extended* weekend: ₹ 138.55 cr [Gross BOC].”

At the worldwide box office, Spider-Man: No Way Home shattered almost all the records and is trailing only behind Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War. 

The movie made $253 million in the US and $334.2 million overseas. The total collection of Spider-Man: No Way Home with just its opening weekend now stands at $587.2 million.

Interestingly, in just three days, it became the top-grossing film of the year in the US and the third-highest grosser globally behind F9 and No Time To Die.

The movie is expected to continue its glorious run at the box office for weeks to come. It is just a matter of time before it breaches the list of all-time worldwide grossers.
