Jr NTR and Ram Charan-starrer RRR was all set to hit the big screens on January 7, however, the makers decided to postpone the film's release date amid the ongoing Omicron scare and rise in COVID-19 cases. Fans, who were eagerly waiting for its release, were left sad and angry with this update. As per the latest buzz, the RRR team is now planning to release the much-hyped movie on a festive occasion. 

Revealing the same, a source informed News18 that COVID-19 cases have started decreasing across the country. Hence, producers of several movies are hopeful that the situation will probably be back to Normal by March. Since RRR is an expensive and much-awaited project, producers do not want to take any risk and want to make sure that they get good returns. 

The source stated, "The pre-release promotions have created a lot of buzz across the country. The makers are therefore planning to release the film on April 29, which is the Eid weekend. The makers are looking at the situation and will then decide and make an official announcement".

In case, the makers finalise April 29 as the release date then RRR is expected to clash with Ajay Devgn & Amitabh Bachchan’s Runway 34 as well as Tiger Shroff-starrer Heropanti 2. Speaking about the same, the source added, "All three are big-budget films and if they plan to release on the same day, it will be a huge loss for producers, exhibitors, and distributors. While a lot of films have been postponed and the new release date announcements are expected soon, Eid surely looks a bit crowded and it will be a wait and watch game as to who blinks first".

Well, we just hope that the situation gets back to normal soon. 

For the unversed, RRR tells a fictional story of two Telugu freedom fighters named Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. While Ram Charan is playing the role of Alluri Seetharama Raju, Jr NTR will be seen as Komaram Bheem in the film. Directed by Baahubali helmer SS Rajamouli, RRR also has Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Shriya Saran playing pivotal roles.
