Ram Charan, the son of megastar Chiranjeevi, made his acting debut with Puri Jagannath's 2007 film Chirutha, which also starred Neha Sharma. It turned out to be a hit at the box office post which Ram Charan went on to deliver several hit films and established himself as one of the top South stars. However, during Chirutha days, it was rumoured that the actor had secretly married Neha Sharma and both of them even went on a honeymoon.

Well, the rumour went on for years and the actor finally opened up about the same on a television chat show. Denying the affair with the actress, who entered Bollywood in 2010 with Crook opposite Emraan Hashmi, Ram Charan expressed that such rumours are hurtful for him as well as his wife Upasana.

Reacting to his linkup with Neha, he said, "I am a married man and such rumours can definitely hamper my marriage. As a husband, it is my responsibility not to bring in a situation where my wife would have to protect me from other women. Chirutha was my debut film and since then the rumours about me secretly marrying Neha and going on a honeymoon started doing the rounds. My dad had asked me not to take this false news seriously".

For the unversed, the Magadheera star tied the knot with Upasana Kamineni, the vice-chairman of Apollo Charity, on June 14, 2012, in Hyderabad. When speculations about Ram's secret wedding were going on, Upasana was his friend. At that time, she too had asked about the rumours.

Revealing the same, he added, "Upasana and I were good friends then and even she knew that these were just made up news. Even after we got married, we made sure that this news would never create any problems for us. Upasana is now busy with her profession and she understands every bit of it".

While Ram Charan is happily married to Upasana, Neha Sharma is still single. 

On the career front, Ram Charan is waiting for the release of his much-hyped film RRR. Directed by Baahubali helmer SS Rajamouli, the movie also stars Jr NTR in the lead role. Neha was last seen in the second season of her web-series Illegal which streams on Voot. She also has Jogira Sara Ra Ra alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui in her kitty.
