The Kapil Sharma Show is among the most popular TV shows where big celebrities often appear to promote their films. Akshay Kumar too has appeared many times on the hit Sony TV series and his camaraderie with host Kapil Sharma has always been one of the highlights. But, seems like all is not well between Akshay and Kapil as the Bollywood superstar has reportedly refused to go on the show to promote his upcoming film Bachchan Pandey. Yes, you read that right!

As per the latest buzz, the actor, who last appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show to promote Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re, is upset after a clip from the episode was leaked despite his request that it should not come out. 

Revealing the same, sources told Hindustan Times that the issue began when the comedian spoke about an interview Akshay had with a "renowned celebrity" in which the actor inquired about his favourite way to consume mangoes. Kapil was allegedly referring to an interview the superstar had with Prime Minister Narendra Modi a few years ago. 

In the leaked clip, the actor then challenges Kapil to name the personality but he quickly changes the subject. Reportedly, after the shoot, the actor requested that the channel not air this segment.

The source said, "Akshay took all of Kapil’s jokes head-on but the dig on the PM interview seemed to mock the dignity of such a high office. So Akshay requested the channel to not air that question. It is a right of the guests to make such a request as the show is not live. The channel agreed, but the said scene was leaked on the internet soon after". 

"It was a breach of trust on the part of someone in Kapil’s team, and Akshay sought a clarification before he appears on the show again," the source added.

For now, the shooting with the Bachchan Pandey cast has been postponed. "Hope all is sorted between Akshay and Kapil soon, otherwise the film’s promotion suffers, and the fans of the banter between the two continue to miss the fun," added the source.

For the unversed, Bachchan Pandey is directed by Farhad Samji and also stars Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, it is an official remake of the Tamil film Jigarthanda which was released in 2014. The much-awaited film is slated to hit the theatres on March 18.
