There was a time back in the 90s, when superstar Govinda was literally everywhere. From Hero No. 1 to Coolie No. 1, he was doing all the big projects. However, not many people know that the super hit Judwaa was also originally written for him. The dual role comedy was started with Govinda but was later taken by Salman Khan. In an interview, Govinda had revealed that he had actually walked out of the film on Salman’s request.

"I was at the top of my game at the time when a film called Banarasi Babu was being filmed. I was also working on Judwaa at that time. While the shooting for Judwaa was on, Salman Khan called me one night at around 2-3 am and asked me, ‘Chichi Bhaiyya, how many hits will you give?’ I asked him, ‘Why, what happened?’ He said, ‘The film which you are shooting right now – Judwaa – please withdraw yourself from the project and please give the movie to me," Govinda said.

He mentioned how he took the call after talking to Sohail Khan. He also said that his relationship with his loved ones was not based on work and that films were never the denominator for his equation with his friends. Judwaa is one of the biggest Salman Khan movies and later in 2007, he even did Partner with Govinda. Judwaa was remade with Varun Dhawan in the lead.
