Has Samantha Become The 2nd Highest-Paid South Actress? Here's How Much She Charges


South star Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently in the best phase of her career. While she is among the top actresses of South Indian cinema, her fan-following witnessed a huge increase in the Hindi-speaking audience too post the success of The Family Man 2. Now, the latest reports suggest that she has become the second-highest-paid actress of South industry after Nayanthara. Yes, you read that right!

Samantha recently became the talk of the town post the success of her song Oo Antava. The hit song was a part of Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rise which turned out to be a blockbuster. 

After The Family Man 2 and Pushpa: The Rise, Samantha has reportedly hiked her fee. According to reports, the actress charges between Rs 3 crore to Rs 5 crore for her films. She quotes her remuneration depending on the production house and a variety of other considerations. With this, she has become the second-highest-paid actress in the South industry.

Reportedly, she had charged a whopping amount of Rs. 5 crores for her Pushpa song as well.

Nayanthara has been the highest-paid actress in South cinema for quite a few years now. She is rumoured to be charging around Rs. 5-6 crores per film. Interestingly, both Samantha and Nayanthara are a part of Vignesh Shivan's Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal which stars Vijay Sethupathi as the male lead.

Besides Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Samantha also has Shakuntalam and Yashoda in her kitty. Last month, the makers of Shakuntalam released the actress’ first look from the much-awaited film which received a great response from her fans.

Also, she is rumoured to be making her Bollywood debut with a women-centric film, to be produced by Taapsee Pannu. However, an official announcement is still awaited.
