Sukumar's Pushpa: The Rise, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, was released last year and went on to become the biggest hit of 2021, beating other big hits like Sooryavanshi and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Besides the storyline and performances, Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Oo Antava song too turned out to be a major highlight. 

Not just on YouTube, the song became a huge hit on several big social media platforms including Instagram. However, the latest buzz suggests that Samantha will not be a part of Puspa 2 and a Bollywood actress will sizzle with Allu Arjun in the item song in the sequel. 

Reportedly, Disha Patani will do an item song in the sequel to Pushpa. Yes, you read that right! According to various reports, Disha, who refused to do the item song for the first installment, would shake a leg with Allu Arjun in the sequel. Director Sukumar is said to have decided to make this alteration in Pushpa 2.

However, it is not yet confirmed as Disha and Pushpa makers are yet to react to the ongoing buzz. 

After the record-breaking success of Pushpa Part 1, the team has already started work on its second installment, which is rumoured to be the franchise's conclusion. The makers are planning to release Pushpa 2 later this year, on December 17. But, an official announcement is still awaited.

Coming back to Samantha, she has a variety of projects in her kitty, including Shakuntalam, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, and Arrangements of Love, her first international film.

On the other hand, Disha's slate includes Ek Villain Returns, Yodha, and KTina.
