A realization that struck actress Kangana Ranaut when she was just 17-years-old and in one of the most abusive relationships of her life.

As the Manikarnika actress turns 35, we recall the time Kangana revealed in an interview, the ordeals she went through in a relationship when she was in her teenage years. Touted to be dating a senior actor (that Kangana later claimed to be actor Aditya Pancholi), the Queen actress shared the moment during which she knew she was a total ‘badass’.

Ranaut, who was allegedly in a live-in relationship with Pancholi as per reports, spoke about being mistreated and manhandled by the actor. She said in an interview with NDTV in 2016, “It was a very difficult and very harsh time. I was physically abused. I don’t have to go into details. I felt trapped. You feel people might help you. But there are no free lunches. But you are going you fall for it..."

She went on to share, “When this man, who used to be my father's age, hit me so hard that my head was...I fell on my head on the floor and it started to bleed. I must have been 17 or something. I picked up my sandal and I hit his head hard and it started to bleed as well. That day I thought I am actually a born fighter, it made me a total badass."  

While Aditya Pancholi was married to actress Zarina Wahab at the moment, Kangana confirmed rumours that it was him who abused her, indeed.

Today the actress is one of the top stars in the industry and is known for being fearless and unabashed in sharing her two cents. Guess, Kangana did learn how to have thick skin and be a total badass in life, after all. 

On the work front, Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming movie will feature her as an Air Force pilot. Her film ‘Tejas’ will be released in October 2022 worldwide.
