Cricket broadcast has evolved immensely over the years, with multiple camera setups to bilingual commentary, the coverage has advanced to make the experience better for viewers. The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) is currently being broadcast in over five languages but the Hindi commentary has caught everyone's attention for all the wrong reasons. 

While some fans were already against some of the phrases used by former cricketers who have taken up the mic after retiring from competitive cricket, Harbhajan Singh's latest remark on West Indies wicket-keeper batter has made things worse.

The former India off-spinner was on air during Hindi commentary when Pooran was dismissed by Avesh Khan in the 18th over of Sunrisers Hyderabad's chase. 

Harbhajan rhymed Pooran's name with 'chooran' while calling the dismissal and it was enough to trigger fans as they called out the former cricketer on Twitter. 

"Kyuki Pooran jo khila rahe the chooran, ab apne hi chooran ka swad lete hue bahar ja rhe hai," Harbhajan had said on air. 

Fans on social media termed Harbhajan's commentary as pathetic and asked him to learn some manners.

Wo puran churan wala kya tha?? Isse bakwas Hindi commentary mene aaj tak nahi suni.

Ok but improve ur commentary..... don't call Pooran as Chooran nd they that ise khaa lene se pet saaf ho jata h.... it's not any medical analysis going on....
Just imagine if ur name is used for some unwanted purposes.....how wud u feel

Harbhajan , learn some manners before making fun of anyones name. Imagine a junior like Pooran comes n tells u to F OFF ! How would u feel after that ?? Yaar, after all ur cheap behaviours in the past learn some manners now. You have become a father now.

Worst thing that has happened to #ipl is their Hindi commentary panel, especially the inclusion of @IrfanPathan, @harbhajan_singh. We love you as cricketers but for the love of the game please take up commentary classes or quit. You spoil the viewing experience.

It is sad to see a player who has played over 100 Test matches for India using such phrases while being on air. 

Coming back to cricket, Pooran finally ended his dry run with the bat in the IPL as he smashed 34 runs off just 24 balls against Lucknow Super Giants and nearly took his side home. 

Sunrisers have now lost both their opening matches and are languishing at the bottom of the table with zero points. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are the only other two teams who are yet to open their account in this year's IPL.
