The medical profession is challenging and it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. And if you are a surgeon, it could get supremely exhausting as surgeries often go on for hours. It’s a profession that is not for the faint-hearted. Proof of this is a picture of these doctors going viral. Completely drained after a 32-hour surgery, these doctors collapsed on to the floor with exhaustion and lay there to regain the energy to get back on their feet again.
The surgery was for brain tumour removal from a patient and comprised 6 continuous operations to remove multiple brain tumours. It was a risky procedure and the doctors could take only short breaks in between. The surgery began at 8.30 a.m. on Saturday and was completed on Sunday. The surgery was successful and one of the surgeons lying on the floor was seen making the ‘Victory’ sign.

The surgery is believed to have been the longest operation at the Fujian Medical University Union Hospital, the Global Times reported. "The patient had both an aneurysm and brain-stem hemangioblastoma. We needed to remove both tumors in one surgery. This required six different surgical procedures to be conducted on the patient. It can be difficult, risky, and time-consuming. If you are removing one tumor, and the other one breaks, it can be fatal," CNTV reported Dr. Chen Jianping, one of the surgeons, saying.
Surgeries often go on for this long, and it takes superhuman strength on the part of doctors to remain calm while bent over a sliced up body and conduct the surgery with precision and accuracy.
