This Is The First Footage Of A Real Flying Car And The Future Is Closer Than We Think

A startup that is backed by Google’s Larry Page has finally revealed what they have been working on. It might not be a self-driving car, but this startup is revolutionising transportation as they have made the first working “flying car.”

Kitty Hawk Flying Car

The company released a video, which showcases the flying car’s ability, and it looks mighty awesome. Dubbed as the “Kitty Hawk”, the vehicle hovers over water in the video and is designed to do just that. The company claims that one won’t even require a pilot’s license to operate this flying device.

Watch the video for yourself to find out how it works and what it is capable of:

There is no word as to what the purpose of this device is and how much it will eventually cost. However, the company is offering a $100, three year membership to be on the priority waiting list, get company-branded gear and also have access to the flight simulator. After signing up, members will also get a $2000 discount on the retail price, once the device is launched in late 2017.

The reason why the “Kitty Hawk” does not need a pilot’s license is because the FAA considers it an ultra - light aircraft. However, there are no plans for the Kitty Hawk to ship outside the US.

The “Kitty Hawk” Flyer will probably go on sale by the end of 2017. Pricing details will be revealed closer to the launch date.
