Every once in a while, men need a proper suit in their lives. From a formal interview to weddings and black tie events.
Dressing for an interview can be a super intimidating task and if you're confused about what to wear, you should check this out.
But while choosing formals, custom made or high-end labels can cost a tonne of money. And while it's an experience in itself to wear a fancy suit, we get that sometimes affording one is not an option.
But that doesn't mean that you can't make your regular tailor-made suit look fancy.
There are basic rules that can make your dirt cheap suit look like it's fallen off of a high street label's rack:1. Avoid Synthetic & Shiny Fabrics
These fabrics reek that they're off the streets. Not only do they look out of place in a formal setting but they're also super uncomfortable. Steer clears from transparent and translucent fabrics, shiny bedazzled pieces with chunks of gems and glitters. Even metallic belts are a huge no-no.
Cheaper formals come in a package with stone embedded or flimsy buttons that look terribly tacky. A smart way to refurbish an otherwise decent suit is to simply replace those annoying buttons.

Once you get the suit, take it to the tailor and make him take in the sleeves. You want the sleeves to be narrow and tapered in such a way that it snugly fits your arm length.
It should neither be too loose or too tight that restricts movements. Inexpensive suits usually lack this structure, but this can easily be altered by going to the tailor.
Normally inexpensive but decent suits have a slip tapered fit that has no break at the end. However, you can ask your tailor to give slight cuff at the ankle. This minute detail makes your suit look a lot fancier.5. Monochrome It
Using shades of a singular colour in choosing the shirt, tie, pocket square creates additional depth in the suit and makes it look like a well put together outfit.
If you invest in one element of the outfit that can be easily worn over and over again, your suit automatically is assumed to be fancy.
