Just when you though the Modi fever couldn't get any hotter, it struck a real-time high again.
Right after the announcement for PM Narendra Modi's biopic directed by Omung Kumar, starring Vivek Oberoi, we have some more visual representation of his life following through. Eros Now has recently announced a web series on the Prime Minister and we're really curious to know how it'll shape up.
Coincidently (or not), the series will be out in April. The same time the General Elections are to commence, from April 11 to May 19, in which Modi's party-Bhartiya Janta Party-led alliance hopes to be re-elected for a second term.
The web series called 'Modi', will showcase his entire life, from his childhood till he became the Prime Minister in 2014. "It will showcase the eventful life of the inspiring and influential leader,” said the makers of the film at a press release. The series will be produced by Benchmark Pictures and directed by Umesh Shukla from the 'Oh My God' fame.
The series is completely based on Modi's journey as a politician. It will start from when he was 12, till he joined BJP in 1987, after serving the Rashtriya Swayamseva Sangh (RSS), after which he got elected as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001, till he became the Prime Minister of India in 2014.
We're not sure what the series will highlight, in particular, but we are definitely curious to see how they have portrayed the Gujarat riots which broke out in 2002, shortly after he became the Chief Minister of the state. For now, all we know is that Faisal Khan, Ashish Sharma and Mahesh Thakur will play Modiji at different ages, in the series.
Common man to becoming the PM, you know the leader, but do you know the man? #ErosNow announces the most-sought-after biopic #Modi on India's PM. Witness his life unfold in this original series releasing this April, directed by @umeshkshukla.@RidhimaLulla @PMOIndia @sethimanav pic.twitter.com/EI7JDWWOz3— Eros Now (@ErosNow) 13 March 2019
"The series will highlight many incidents that made him devote his life to the service of the country and it's the ultimate gateway to witness the life of a self-made man,” states the press release.
The writers Mihir Bhuta and Rashika Anand have focused on making the series solely about his struggle and not so much about the politics involved. While we're sure the Prime Minister's many achievements and accolades will be highlighted, we can't help but wonder if we will get to see the possible hiccups in his government in the series.

“Our attempt through this biopic is to tell the story of his struggle, ambition, intensity and success and how it not only inspires many but is one of the factors of his mass appeal.” - Rishima Lulla the chief content officer for Eros Group stated at the press release. Everyone certainly believes his growing up years, along with certain decisions he's made make for an incredible story or a web series.
While we wait with bated breath for the web series to churn out, we sure hope it's not propaganda for the coming elections and it truly talks about just his life and struggles sans any political agenda. Well, there's only one way to find out I guess, stay tuned for its release in April.
