Christopher Henry Gayle, probably the best T20 batsman in the world, has once again proven why he owns that title.
Opening his Indian Premier League campaign against Rajasthan Royals(RR) on Monday, Gayle of Kings XI Punjab(KXIP) bagged the man of the match award for playing a glorious knock of 79 runs in 47 balls, consisting of 4 sixes and 8 boundaries.
Starting off slow and settling himself first was something new that we fans got to witness. Though many would say that he had a particular reason to do that, which was him needing a mere seven more runs to become the fastest person to reach 4000 IPL runs.
But even after reaching that peak, he made sure that he played very carefully and didn't start firing straight-away. He took his time and once he was settled, he blasted in all directions of the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.View this post on Instagram

Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal shared a 56-run stand but soon after Agarwal departed, the Universe Boss switched to beast mode and was supported by young Sarfraz Khan on the other end.
Despite Gayle getting caught by Rahul Tripathi on the ball of Ben Stokes, Sarfraz took the responsibility of his side and took them to a good total of 184 in their share of 20 overs.View this post on Instagram

Irrespective of the controversial moments the game had, Chris Gayle became the second leading scorer in the IPL so far. And if he continues with the same form, there is no doubt that David Warner or anyone could stand in his path of grabbing the Orange Cap and becoming the leading scorer of the season.
