Ever since making his debut in 2016, Jasprit Bumrah's consistent bowling performances have allowed him to establish himself as India's go-to bowler in dire situations across formats. If his anomalous, sling-arm action has troubled some of the best in the business, Bumrah's natural pace and peculiar release point of his deliveries make him a nightmare for the opposition batsmen.
Such has been his accuracy that the steaming yorkers he bowls manage to find the bottom of the stumps more often, than not. For someone who thrives in limited-overs cricket, Bumrah takes his game to a whole new level in the Mumbai Indians (MI) jersey while plying his trade in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The success and popularity of Bumrah can be ascertained from the fact that a lot of youngsters have been seen trying to copy him in the past. An under-13 youngster was spotted copying Bumrah's action in Hong Kong's U-13 League recently. And, then, during India's tour of Australia, a young kid was also spotted executing Bumrah's unorthodox to perfection.March 26, 2019
A similar incident came to the fore recently when a young seamer, with an action similar to Bumrah, was seen bowling to Moeen Ali in the nets during the training session of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The brief video shared on the social media showing the young bowler imitating Bumrah has taken social media by storm.
The young bowler in question is believed to Mahesh Kumar, a local lad, who has been a net bowler for RCB in the past. Though it will still take some time for the youngster to get a game with RCB, cricket fans were clearly smitten by the next Bumrah. While some claimed that RCB might have unearthed a new Bumrah, others were just in awe of the similarities between the two.
Virat Kohli-led RCB will hope to make use of the young bowler, if he's given an opportunity, to turn their fortunes in the IPL. After suffering a crushing seven-wicket defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the opening match, RCB will be eager to bounce back when they host Mumbai in what promises to be a pulsating contest on 28th March.
