Delhi Capitals (DC) did themselves a big favour when they traded Shikhar Dhawan from Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) Auctions.
Carrying on his momentum from the last game against Mumbai Indians (MI), Dhawan went on to score a thrilling half-century in the second match itself against the mighty Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Being the only one to score big in the team, the left-hander piled up 51 runs out of the 147 of the team.
Getting some assistance from Prithvi Shaw at the beginning, followed by Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant in the later stages, 'Gabbar' moulded his innings to perfection to aid the home side.View this post on Instagram

Despite the loss, DC will be delighted as most of their top-order batsman appear in good form, unlike the previous seasons. Whether it was Pant and Colin Ingram in the opening match or Dhawan and Shaw in last night's encounter, Delhi's top-order looks in ominous form.
Thanks to his fifty against CSK, Dhawan (94 runs) climbed to the second spot in the race for the 'Orange Cap', which is currently donned by his teammate Pant who leads the list with 103 runs to his name.
With the arrival of iconic Ricky Ponting as the coach and legendary Saurav Ganguly as Team Advisor, a new-look Delhi looks is slowly, yet steadily establishing themselves as serious contenders this season.
