Elections somehow turn into days of unceasing entertainment as we witness politician upon politician make a laughing stock out of themselves in the presence of hundreds of onlookers, who are only too keen to see these high-headed 'safed topi wale' come undone with every chance they get.

Yesterday turned out to be one of those days for noted Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, who got hit smack in the face with Monday blues during his election rally in Bhopal.

During his speech, Singh evoked PM Modi's promise of depositing Rs 15 lacs in every account, and implored his audience to speak up if any of them have received the account.

At this point, when asked to raise their hand in affirmation, an unassuming young man stands up and is beckoned on to the stage by Digvijaya Singh to take the mic. He even asks the guy to give his bank account details for verification purposes. The young man gets up on the stage and says something so unexpected, it leaves Digvijay Singh baffled enough that he takes a few moments to recover from the moment.

The youth takes the mic and instead of answering Digvijaya's questions on receiving 15 lacs, the young man exclaims that “Modi ji did surgical strikes and killed terrorists.” This left a taken aback Digvijay Singh fuming and fumbling, while the young man was whisked away from the mic even before he could complete his sentence.

Awkward Congress party members could only be seen smirking in the background, while Digvijaya Singh kept asking if the young man got his money after all.

Tell us if you don't think such episodes turn out to be more entertaining than most soap operas on TV these days? We find them really entertaining to say the truth.
