Vicky Kaushal Shares The Most Intense Version Of Himself As A Revolutionary That Has Us Shook

Vicky Kaushal will be seen next in Shoojit Sircar's project, playing the role of Udham Singh, a revolutionary who assassinated Michael O' Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of Punjab, in London, on 13 March 1940.

This assassination was an act of revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919. The massacre deeply affected young Udham Singh who shot Michael O'Dwyer two decades later and was later hanged for murder.

Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to share a shot of his character while filming. In the shot, he looks fierce with a visibly serious bruise under his eyes and a cold expression.

Running my fingers through the bullet holes at Jallianwala Baug, little did I realise that I would one day get a chance to re-live and depict the anger and anguish of the lesser known martyr, revolutionary... SARDAR UDHAM SINGH. #SardarUdhamSingh @shoojitsircar @ronnie.lahiri #SheelKumar @writish1 #ShubenduBhattacharya #RisingSunFilms @sadarudhamfilm

In the picture he shared on Instagram, Vicky is dressed in a long trench coat and a sharp hat with slicked back hair and looks completely in character as a young Udham Singh.

Vicky has played extremely versatile roles in the past. From an Army officer in 'Uri' and 'Raazi' to a carefree man in 'Manmarziyaan'. The talented actor has been extremely fluid in switching roles effortlessly. Besides completely nailing his look and getting into the skin of every character he plays, Vicky has always been exceptional in pulling off the role he is playing, and we can't wait to see what he does this time around with Sircar's film.

Shoojit Sircar recently spoke about the project and told news agency IANS, "Udham's struggle and sacrifice is a very important story for today's audiences to be made aware of, and I have collaborated with my esteemed writers Riteish Shah and Shubendu Bhattacharya, along with my friend and producer Ronnie Lahiri once again for this humble tribute to the maverick freedom fighter and his story."

When asked about the casting of Udham Singh, Shoojit added, "Vicky is unquestionably one of the most dynamic actors we have today, and together, we shoulder great responsibility to deliver due justice in bringing alive this inspiring story on screen."
