Activision released the first Modern Warfare title in 2007 titled 'Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare' and it's one of the best COD titles of all time. Well, it was remastered with better graphics and was released as 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. In the meantime, we also got 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' and 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3'.

Now, the fourth instalment in the Modern Warfare series is going to be out this year, and it looks like it'll be called, wait for it, 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare'. Yes, we will never understand video games and their weird naming schemes.

The news about this year's new 'Call of Duty' title was leaked by a YouTube creator named “LongSensation”. Activision has apparently been showing the game to the press and a select few 'influencers', so we don't see why this couldn't be true.

If it wasn't obvious enough, the new 'Call of Duty' will be a 'soft reboot' of the first one. It'll most likely have a gripping single-player campaign with 'realistic emotional moments' inspired by the controversial 'No Russian' campaign from Modern Warfare 2.

More than the game's arrival or its story, hard-core 'Call of Duty' fans are not particularly happy with the name. It's not what they expected and they're taking it all out on social media:

Buying the wrong game is certainly not an option.

These aren't the only ones. Twitter is flooded with a ton of angry comments on the game's name and Activision's decision to reboot the series.

You know what? Maybe let's just stick to 'Call of Duty Mobile' for now.
