Me Too Movement in India came in when Tanushree Dutta finally broke her silence and narrated her ordeal in front of the public eye. She said she was sexually harassed by Nana Patekar on the sets of 'Horn Ok Pleassss'. Post this big revelation, there was a cascade of allegations that followed. Big names like Sajid Khan and Alok Nath also couldn't escape the wave of this movement. In Tanushree and Nana's case, there was a big development yesterday. Nana Patekar walked out freely with a clean chit as cops couldn't find any evidence against the veteran actor. Due to lack of evidence, allegations levelled against Nana have been claimed as false.
Many supporters of Nana have been rebuking Tanushree for framing Nana in this case. But, Tanushree is clearly not in favour of the judgement. She is rather feeling disgusted to know that such a development has been taken in her case.
Tanushree Dutta alleged harassment case against Nana Patekar: Nana Patekar's lawyer, Advocate Aniket Nikam says, "The entire allegations against my client were false from the inception. My client is innocent and justice will be served." (file pic) pic.twitter.com/c2zjRcZFzP— ANI (@ANI) June 13, 2019
She told Bombay Times, “This is disgusting because Nana Patekar has been trying to get a clean chit for a while, now. I have also mentioned this earlier in an interview that our witnesses have been getting threat calls, and they are being intimidated and pressured in every way so that they do not record their statements with the police. We have 10 witnesses, out of which only one-and-a-half statements have been recorded. The others have not even come forward, as they have got threat calls.”
Tanushree added that she isn't much disappointed because she didn't expect much in this case. According to her, Nana is desperately trying to get back to doing films and wants his name to be cleared in the harassment case. She also added that the witnesses that the police have recorded the statements (in his favour) from are his friends.
Tanushree is not giving up and will continue to fight. “My only hope of judgement now is from God. I will continue this fight,” said Tanushree.
Interestingly, Nana has not even given a single statement justifying his innocence. We wonder if the whole case against Nana is farce or we are ignoring the cries of a woman in this world of men and are trying to brush a man's ego.
