Usually, KL Rahul has his style game on point and can really set trends, especially when it comes to athleisure. Be it for normal public appearances at award ceremonies, and parties or when he is just out and about with his gang, he really knows his stuff.

So when he decided to wear a pair of desecrated sneakers to a launch event, not only did it puzzle us beyond our wits, it also turned quite a few sneakerheads' heads.

The pair of sneakers in question are the Off-Court 3.0 white sneakers from Off-White. They normally retail for about $670 or Rs 47,000, and can be picked from a number of e-commerce websites on the internet.

The sneakers are made in Italy using A-grade suede leather and have rubber soles. Right out of the box, the sneakers come in a “shabby” or dirty state, meaning that they are a little soiled and have a patina-like finish around the sole and the uppers.

As with all Off-White shoes, the Off-Courts also comes with the orange plastic tag and a few other embellishments, which actually give Off-White their signature aesthete.

KL Rahul, it seems, in a bid to personalise his sneakers ripped of the flappy orange fabric tags from the tongue and the vamp.

We're not commenting if this makes the sneakers better or worse, but it surely is one hell of a way to customise an already unique and rare pair of sneakers, and an even greater way to make a statement piece.

If we consider the rest of the outfit, KL Rahul is actually pulling the ensemble off really well. An understated black cargo and t-shirt from Gully, layered with a blue gradient bomber jacket makes for a really cheeky way to carry off the streetwear-meets-athleisure aesthete that KL seems to be going for here.
