It's been a hot minute since the entire internet was talking about Game of Thrones, but well, the show has come back with a bang. For months, the only thing people could talk about was how the eighth season ruined the entire show but there's a chance for GOT to redeem itself. Kinda.

So, it has been announced that a prequel called House of the Dragon is coming to HBO soon and I won't even be exaggerating when I say that fans have gone crazy with the excitement of it.

Even though not a lot of information has been revealed about the project, it's enough for now. Here's what we do know - as the name suggests, it will revolve around the House Targaryen. The 10-episode series will be set about 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

It will be based on George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones spinoff book Fire & Blood. While the book focuses on generations of the Targaryen dynasty, we don't know if the series will cover everything or focus on a few particular rulers.

Reportedly, it will show Aegon I arriving in Westeros and unifying six of its seven kingdoms with his sister-wives Visenya and Rhaenys. So basically, we will probably see the origin of all the iconic things from Game of Thrones.

Finally, there's good news and there's bad news. Bad news is that we don't have a premiere date, not even a hint of when House of the Dragon will finally come out, but on the other hand, it seems like David Benioff and D. B. Weiss - the show creators who were responsible for making GOT go from the most loved show to having the most hated ending - seem to be not involved at all.

Unrelated, but there's also a little story of karma that happened recently. Remember how D&D rushed the last season of GOT so they could start working on Star Wars? They are no longer working on Star Wars as well.
