While Bollywood's blatant silence has made the country wonder if the industry is actually spineless, fortunately, some people from the entertainment industry who've outrightly spoken up against the implementation of the NRC and the CAA, and we're really gald they have.
Popular rapper and music composer Raftaar has spoken up and taken a stand against the imposition of the NRC and the CAA. At his concert recently, he spoke to his audience about it and received a big cheer from everyone in the crowd. He made a statement before his performance, which will be remembered for a long time to come.

At the concert, Raftaar introduced his friend Arshad to the crowd and said "Before starting, I want to make something seriously clear, whether my career goes on tomorrow or it doesn't I am not bothered, I have earned enough so that I don't die of hunger. This man's name is Arshad, he takes care of me to the extent that nobody can even push me. If anyone talks about asking him to leave this country, I am ready to take a bullet for it *expletive*.”
As the crowd cheered the singer, he added “Whether they are Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, or Muslims, they are all our brothers, I will not let anyone be taken out of the country. After this, I do not care what happens to my career.”

With these powerful words Raftaar gave his performance while the crowd cheered him on. Raftaar, originally named Dilin Nair, was formerly a member of the urban music group Mafia Mundeer formed by Yo Yo Honey Singh. He's amongst the few artists who have openly spoken up against the CAA act. While everyone has the right to an opinion, giving an opinion is very important, especially if you're a famous personality, since a lot of people look up to what famous people think, say and feel. Bollywood's unfathomable silence is something the country really doesn't need right now, when the conditions are unfavourable all around. What it truly needs are more people like Raftaar, who will voluntarily and involuntarily give an opinion, knowing and understanding the issue at hand and how people truly feel about it.
