Pregnant Cow Was Saved From Being Slaughtered After It Knelt Down & 'Begged' To Be Spared

So many animals lose their lives every day for meat and it's actually such a cruel practice. No, we're not trying to spread some vegan agenda, but this one particular animal pleading to be spared is too heartbreaking.

Reportedly, a cow in China literally begged to be spared from being slaughtered by kneeling down in front of the butcher with tears in its eyes. To make matters worse, the cow was also pregnant.

The incident happened in Shantou in Guangdong Province of China and even though it's very sad how the cow had to beg to stay alive, the entire thing at least has a happy ending.

An insider named Lin Wangbo told Chinese news outlet The Paper, according to a translation provided by Daily Mail, that "After it arrived at the slaughterhouse and when the butcher tried to drag it off the truck and into the house to be butchered, it knelt and kept crying."

In the end, the people of China came to the cow's rescue. After the video of the entire thing was uploaded on Chinese social media platforms, it went viral and people came together to save the poor cow.

Reportedly, everyone managed to collect 24,950 yuan - â¹2.5 lakh - to buy the cow and was released at a local Buddhist temple where it was happily adopted. Another 4,000 yuan - â¹41,000 - were also raised to give to the temple to cover all the expenses.

See, great things can be achieved when people work together. I'm just glad the cow is alive and at a better place where it will hopefully receive the love and care it needs.
