Tobey Maguire Nailed The Iconic Lunch Tray Scene In Spider-Man Without Any CGI & Were Stunned

It's a fact that no superhero can ever be made without CGI and special effects, quite understandably. But, sometimes you learn that a few scenes, that actually look like it took a lot of editing and effects to happen, were achieved by the actors on their own.

Even though it's not Thursday, we still have a throwback and it's about the OG Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire.

Remember this little scene?

He manages to hold Kristen Dunst with one hand while also catching everything in her lunch tray after its contents go flying in the air.

Looks almost impossible to do for real, right? Well, it actually almost was, as Tobey did manage to do this on his own, just took a lot of tries, but that's okay.

It's surprising that it's not CGI like almost the rest of the movie, but Tobey did do this 'stunt' on his own and it only took him 156 tries. Honestly, not that bad.

Talking about the scene, special effects artist John Dykstra said, "This gag when he catches all this stuff, he actually did that⦠take 156!"

Even Kristen Dunst revealed what the trick actually was - "No CGI, thatâs all Tobey, they put sticky glue stuff to stick his hand to the tray."

Yes, this is old news, but there still might be people who didn't know this, so why not share such an interesting movie fact?
