As 100 Pakistani Hindu Refugee Families Enter India, People Welcome Them With Open Arms

Recently, around 100 Pakistani Hindu families have crossed the Attari-Wagah border and reached Amritsar, on Monday. The Pakistani Hindu families are continuing to flee from Pakistan to India as they claim to be oppressed based on their religion there.

However, while the controversy over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) refuses to die, around 200 families have already crossed the border and entered India in the year 2020 till now.

According to India Today, a few members of the 100 Pakistani Hindu families that crossed the border on Monday, said, "Humanity has died in Pakistan and they have told the Islamabad-based Indian Embassy that they want to settle in India." Many people, including women and children, reached Amritsar with their belongings and some of them have also said that they want to perform Hindu religious rites at Haridwar.

Not only this, but some Pakistani Hindu families have also got mortal remains of their ancestors to perform their last rites in the holy Ganges.

As of now, some of the families have been given temporary visas, but have also expressed their wishes to stay in the country and never return to Pakistan.

Speaking on the arrival of the 100 families, Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee Chief, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, met these immigrants and said, âThese people have been compelled to leave their country in order to save their religion.â
