Finland To Give 7 Months Of Equal Parental Leaves To Both Mother-Father & We Need This In India

Sanna Marin, the newly-appointed Prime Minister of Finland has made a lot of significant changes since she has come into power. The Finnish government, led by Marin, is showing the world what woman power can do and what tectonic changes can be brought about under their leadership.

According to CNN, Finland on Wednesday announced a new policy that will grant equal parental leaves to both mothers and fathers.

The parents will get around seven months of paid leave and pregnant partners will get an extra one month leave before the child is born.

Well, the basic idea behind this new policy is to uplift and improve gender equality and also enable an increase in the declining birth rate in Finland.

The Minister of Health and Social Affairs in Finland, Aino-Kaisa Pekonen said, "This enables better equality between parents and diversity among families.â

Also, Finlandâs coalition of five parties led by all-women leaders has made gender equality a priority.

Hereâs how people on the internet are reacting to the new policy of equal parental leaves-

This is what happens when women lead.

When women lead, policies that help families get prioritized.
Finland's Prime Minister @MarinSanna has a majority female cabinet and is extending #PaidFamilyLeave to 14 months with both parents receiving equal leave quotas. https://t.co/RBasjxpjQD
