Sundar Pichai's Father Spending A Year's Salary To Send Him To US Shows The Power Of Hard Work

It's Monday and we know you all are looking for some motivation to kick start the week and get ready for the rest of the days. These are some tough times as we live through this pandemic and we know exactly how easy it is to lose the motivation you need to keep things going.

But today is not going to be one of those days. We have an incredible video recommendation for you that's quite emotional yet equally inspiring. We're talking about the "Dear Class of 2020" video that was live-streamed on YouTube Original's channel.

It's a virtual commencement celebration bringing together inspirational leaders, celebrities, and YouTube creators to celebrate graduates, their families, and their communities. It's a four and a half hour stream in which you'll see a ton of familiar faces like Michelle Obama, K-pop band BTS, Lady Gaga and many more.

Obviously, they all have a lot of good things to say but one story, in particular, is what touched our hearts the most. It's the story of none other than the CEO of Google and Alphabet, Sundar Pichai.

You can click the video below to skip straight to Sundar Pichai's speech -

He talks about his father saving up a year's worth of his salary to put Sundar Pichai on a plane to the US to pursue the course at Stanford University. This was 27 years ago, so you can imagine how drastically different things were back then.

He also shared how things were different back then in California and remembers how he had to spend over $2 to make a phone call back to India to speak to his parents.

We really think you should watch the video. In fact, just play it in the background and listen to it as a podcast if you will. It truly shows how far people like Sundar Pichai have really come from their early days.
