Bollywood has a reputation for having huge budgets that they spend on larger-than-life sets to create films with fantastical elements that can easily take the audience away from everyday reality. 

Sometimes, instead of creating sets from scratch, producers also do consider using picturesque places for shoots like royal palaces.  This adds to the visual diversity of the film. With songs in these films, filmmakers try to create a mix of imagination and reality and indulge even more. 

Here are a few songs that were shot in royal palaces. 

1. Love In Jaipur From Shudh Desi Romance

The film Shudh Desi Romance starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra was mostly shot in Jaipur. Stills with the backdrop of Jal Mahal, Amer Fort, and the Hawa Mahal, around the city can be seen through the length of the movie and in songs like Love in Jaipur from the film.

2. Masti ki Pathshala From Rang De Basanti

The song Masti ki Pathshala from the film Rang De Basanti was shot at the Nahargarh Fort of Jaipur. The fort was built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Located in the Aravali hills, the fort was constructed as a leisurely retreat for the Maharaja.  

3. Jashn-E-Bahaara From Jodhaa Akbar

Scenes from Ashutosh Gowarikar's Jodhaa Akbar were shot in the Amer Fort. The period drama starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwariya Rai sees the scenic beauty of the place in songs like Jashn-E-Bahaara.

4. Kabira From Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

The film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was shot in Oberoi Udaivilas, located on the banks of Udaipurâs Lake Pichola. While the structure has been renovated and has modern elements, it has been constructed on the hunting grounds of the Maharana of Mewar. And, 40 percent of the total area is designated as a wildlife sanctuary. Owing to the traditions of the area, the estate is designed by drawing inspiration from the Mewari architectural traditions. A part of the scenic beauty can be seen in the song, Kabira. 

5. Labon Ko From Bhool Bhoolayia

The iconic thriller film starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan was shot in Chomu Palace, a 300-year-old palace-turned-hotel. The structure was constructed by the family of Prithvi Raj Chauhan. The fort was built with high walls to keep the enemy afar. It has been designed keeping in mind the guidelines stated in the Vastu Shashtra.

6. Aadha Ishq From Band Baaja Baraat

In the film Band Baaja Baaraat, Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharm are wedding planners who eventually fall in love. For one of their weddings, the film was shot in Lallgarh Palace of Bikaner. In fact, songs like Aadha Ishq and Dum Dum are shot in the same location as the backdrop of the palace. A palace and heritage hotel in Bikaner, Rajasthan, the Lallgarh Palace was built for Sir Ganga Singh, Maharaja of Bikaner.

7. Naina From Khoobsurat

In the film Khoobsurat,  Fawad Khanâs character 's royal home is, in fact, the Laxmi Niwas Palace located in the Lalgarh Palace Complex, Bikaner, Rajasthan. It was built for Sir Ganga Singh in 1904 in the Indo-Saracenic style and the primary material used in the construction of the palace was sandstone. The palace was designed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob.
