On Wednesday, Reliance Entertainment CEO Shibasish Sarkar took to Twitter to share that Rohit Shetty's 2017 film Golmaal Again is set to become the first Hindi film to release in theatres post COVID-19. Yes, you read that right. 

And here is the twist, the re-release will not happen in India!

It is basically set to re-release in New Zealand, which is now COVID-free, apparently. 

Shibasish wrote, âThe show must go on. New Zealand opened their theatres and #GolmaalAgain becomes the first Hindi film to be screened post COVID-19. Cheers to a new beginning!â

Even filmmaker Rohit Shetty shared the news on his Instagram account.  

He shared the version of the poster that will be released in New Zealand and wrote, âNew Zealand decides to re-release Golmaal Again in theatres making it the first Hindi film to get a re-launch post COVID. New Zealand is now COVID free and is opening its theatres on June 25 with Golmaal Again.â 

In the 2017 film, actors Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, and Johnny Lever reprised their roles, while Parineeti Chopra, Tabu, Prakash Raj and Neil Nitin Mukesh were the latest additions.

Even Parineeti shared this news on Twitter with the caption âProudâ.

Golmaal Again is the fourth instalment in Rohit Shetty's popular Golmaal series. The horror-comedy film is also available on OTT platform Prime Video. FYI, the Golmaal series took off in 2006 to much fanfare.
